Pope at the Crossroads: Is he turning hard left?

APTOPIX Italy Pope Epiphany

From Al-Arabiya:

For the first time in history, Islamic prayers and readings from the Quran will be heard at the Vatican on Sunday, in a move by Pope Francis to usher in peace between Israelis and Palestinians.

Francis issued the invitation to Israeli President Shimon Peres and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas during his visit last week to Jordan, Israel, and the Palestinian Authority.

Abbas, Peres, and Francis will be joined by Jewish, Christian and Islamic religious leaders, a statement released by Peres’s spokesperson said, according to the Times of Israel.

The Pope’s ‘job’ is Leader of the Catholic Church.  His actions, however suggest that of someone more interested in politics.  Are we to reach out to the least of our brethren?  No question.  But his short tenure looks more like that of a political opportunist, than one of a Leader of faith.  In a time when Christians are being murdered around the world, and Christian faith being eliminated from the world’s last bastion of religious freedom, the Pope seemingly ignores the voices crying out from the persecuted in his own church.  He has internationally weighed in on the poor, gay rights, even disgusting excesses in the church itself:  That’s all fine.  It makes good political talking points, especially when you really believe in it.

But the single most important crisis facing Christians worldwide is the horrific tortures, rapes and murders from radical Islamists.

And now he’s throwing a prayer party at the Vatican, straight out of the Jimmy Carter playbook.  But think of the opportunity lost:  IF he had demanded muslim leaders in America and around the world to come out and denounce the persecution of innocent Christians globally, a summit at the Vatican would potentially make sense.  Catholics, and in a broader sense Christians in general would most likely understand.  He would be “Defending the faith”; the right man for the job.

But that BIG first step is missing.

The Koran speaks against those not of the Islamic faith.  And not in flattering terms:  The lives of those that don’t jive with their radical beliefs (Christians) are to be put to death.  Muslim children are mentally under-developed soldiers of a violent religion manipulated into carrying out these orders.  Yet the Pope wants to sit down and:

For the first time in history, Islamic prayers and readings from the Quran will be heard at the Vatican on Sunday, in a move by Pope Francis to usher in peace between Israelis and Palestinians. (emphasis added)

STOP!

Get on your microphone, put huge pictures of dozens of murdered and persecuted Christians on the biggest billboard behind you, and CONDEMN THESE ACTS.  Scream it from the top of your lungs!  And do it again, and again, and again until the masses are made aware of what is happening daily around the globe.  Do it every Sunday, every Wednesday; do it till you drop.

Do it this Sunday, when you have your guests attention at the Israeli-Palestinian Vatican summit!

Next,  visit those countries where the worst atrocities are taking place.  Go to a church in Egypt, stand in front of the Muslim Brotherhoods murderous mob and tell them no more killing Christians.”

In fact, make this your message:

“We will not leave while my people are being slaughtered.”

Noone is suggesting don’t have your summit.  But, Pope Francis you must understand that Christians are being persecuted, and your job description calls for taking care of the lives of your own flock.

And when they are being slaughtered, taking care of them first…  ~~Seano

  1. Who sold us the idea of “Religion”. I truly cannot believe there are millions across the world who are still sold on this idea. The corruption, the violence, the utterly ridiculous notion that man will stay celibate to become a priest, ( so unnatural) the ruined people who spent time in these orphanages/homes for children for whatever reason. The Priests sent around cities and countries to cover up there disgusting behaviour to small trusting children.Yet Money and Time is still spent on trying to make them become friends.

  2. Hmm, I find your use of the word, “political”, to describe this pope, interesting, Seano. Made me think of the false prophet, during the tribulation.

  3. Christianity is not at war with Islam, but Islam is trying its darndest to eradicate Christianity. I hope somebody makes the Muslims go through strident security like I, a practicing Catholic, did in April.

  4. If anyone the Pope should know the Bible from beginning to the end!! There is a holy war going on until the end of time! This is a “religious” man, i am a believer in Christ, there is a big difference. The only thing i can do is pray.

Your thoughts!
