In a strange new twist to the Bergdahl ‘trade for terrorist’s’ saga, President Obama’s administration leveled a shocking accusation at the servicemen who served with Sgt. Bergdahl.
Obama’s Deputy Assistant of Public Affairs Brandon Friedman announced via tweet that then-fellow soldiers and superiors of Bergdahl now coming forward are just smearing him publicly because they are seemingly ‘psychopaths’ and poor leaders.
And it didn’t stop there.
MSNBC’s Chuck Todd stretched the baseless attacks further, stating; “I’ve had a few aides describe it to me as ‘we didn’t know they [those who served with Bergdahl] were going to swift-boat Bergdahl.”
Swift boating is a term used for those deliberately lying about a fellow service members record.
The combined implications suggest yet another new strategy for the White House: By painting his fellow servicemen as irrational and mean, it suggests they want public opinion to turn in favor of Bergdahl by showing he had no choice but to desert. (Or even defect.)
The apparent pivot comes at a time when sources confirm the intelligence community believed as far back as 2010 that Bergdahl may be collaborating with his ‘captors’. In addition, servicemen on the ground the night in question heard first-hand from a radio interception strong evidence that Bergdahl had walked away on his own accord, and had purposefully sought out the enemy.
